Workers Compensation

Many years ago, during the Great Depression, our government became concerned that employees who were injured on the job had no protection.  Counteracting this concern was the desire to protect employers from astronomical insurance costs.  The government therefore created the workers compensation system, which affords recovery by employees for their injuries by requiring employers to carry workers compensation insurance, but limits employers’ insurance costs.  The workers compensation system is often the sole means of recovery for employees injured on the job.

As years have gone by, the workers compensation system has grown more complex.  Indeed, New Jersey’s courts have expanded coverage beyond the traditional definition of injury to include sexual harassment.

Our attorneys handle claims for injuries through the workers compensation system.  Additionally, we represent employers seeking coverage under workers compensation policies for the defense and indemnification of claims of sexual harassment, and disputes between employers and their carriers over their coverage and premiums.
